Are Cell Ranger products compatible work with my carrier?
The Cell Ranger PORT and STIX are compatible every US and Canadian carrier, except for iDEN networks (legacy Nextel, Southern LINC, and MiKE). European carriers use different frequency bands are are not supported by our current products.
Are Cell Ranger products compatible with my phone/datacard?
Our products boost both normal voice and 3G data frequency bands, so no matter which cell phone or data card you have, Cell Ranger is compatible.
Carriers and phones using the iDEN technology are the only cellular devices our products don’t support. Nextel, Southern LINC, and MiKE are the only carriers that make use of iDEN technology.
Can multiple users boost signal using just one Cell Ranger booster?
Yes! Cell Ranger PORT and STIX are designed to amplify signals for up to 3 cell phones simultaneously.
How much gain do the PORT and STIX amplifiers have?
Both STIX and PORT versions of Cell Ranger have 50dB of adaptive downlink gain.
Where won't a Cell Ranger work?
The Cell Ranger PORT and STIX currently only have downlink amplification. The receivers and antennas installed in cell phone towers are considerably more sensitive than the receivers inside the cell phones themselves. For this reason, we found that 85-90% of signal problems are caused by downlink problems, and in most cases uplink amplification is not necessary to improve signal. However, in some particular cases, uplink problems can occur. If your phone shows full bars but drops calls upon dialing, then you are having uplink problems. In these cases, a PORT or STIX amplifier will not improve signal quality.
Are there any higher powered Cell Ranger amplifiers?
Yes. We expect an in-building kit called the Cell Ranger Home to be available in the 1st quarter 2009. It is planned to cover around 2,500 sq ft. There is also a modular, distributed system called the Cell Ranger Mega intended for large areas like conference centers/hotels. This is also planned for Q1 2009 release.

Does the Cell Ranger work in all countries?
Not all. The Cell Ranger PORT and STIX work on the 800(850)MHz and 1900MHz bands. These are in use around the world, but not all countries use them. Notably most of Europe and Asia do not use these 2 bands.
